Tsunami Warning Bell #2 is a sculptural meditation on balance, resilience, and the quiet tension between natural forces and human presence. Crafted from richly grained, asymmetrically carved wood, the piece rises in a graceful arc that supports two suspended metal bells—forms that evoke both vulnerability and vigilance. The organic curvature of the stand contrasts with the dense, rounded weight of the bells, creating a dialogue between fluid movement and grounded solidity. As an object, it feels simultaneously ancient and contemporary, reminiscent of maritime signaling devices yet unmistakably sculptural in intent. Its presence invites viewers to consider the precarity of coastlines, the warning systems we rely upon, and the poetic potential of functional forms transformed into art.

#20 in the 50 bells series, Tsunami Warning Bell #2 combined elements of bent oak, live edge walnut and forged and fabricated steel.
