Gaia Bell

Gaia Bell is a collaborative sculpture by Phil Seder, Katy McFadden, and Rick Crawford that weaves together reclaimed materials and elemental symbolism into a meditative whole. At its center hangs a repurposed oxygen tank, transformed into a bell that emits a deep, resonant tone—an invitation to pause, reflect, and listen. The bell is suspended within a hand-built wooden frame crafted by Seder, whose precise joinery gives the structure both strength and quiet elegance.

The upright posts are adorned with ceramic heart forms by McFadden, each one a tender, organic gesture that introduces emotional warmth and symbolic depth. Rick Crawford contributed the distinctive wood texturing, carving rhythm and life into the timbers with patterns that echo natural growth and weathering. Gaia Bell stands as a testament to collaborative vision—blending utility, memory, and reverence for the Earth into a unified, contemplative experience.
